Chamberlain Hill.

Chamberlain offers a very approachable climb with three stunning, long duration descents called DL, Shimmy and Full House. The network is set just outside of town to the west and accessing it typically requires riding from town on the Cross Vermont trail though a lovely pastoral farm field. That said, there is a parking lot for riding Chamberlain Hill at the start of Johnnie Brook Rd. The climb up Chamberlain is steady but very approachable, especially when compared to some of its counterparts in town. The Full House descent is a mix of technical riding with some tight switchbacks and several high speed sidehill bench cuts that are sure to put a smile on your face. Shimmy is an awesome new option from the summit and is more mellow downhill. But if you are looking for a bigger challenge, you can drop off onto Coco to get some black diamond features. DL is not to be missed as well. Pro tip…start your DL lap a little higher with Pop Rocks!

Winter Access

Chamberlain has amazing fatbiking opportunities in the winter. Groomed to perfection by our dedicated volunteers, Jake and Travis, Chamberlain Trails offer easy access to those who want to bike the trails all year round! Find Fatbiking Conditions for Chamberlain and all VMBA networks here.

Parking

There are two option to access this trail network. Park in town and follow the Cross Vermont trail to the Chamberlain Trail Head or park in the roped area at the start of Johnnie Brook road and ride the one mile dirt road to the network. If you park at the start of Johnnie Brook Rd, please remember to ride no more than two across and bring lights if it’s getting dark!
